We've built a tool to automate pixel art animation and bundled it in with our platform fighting game, Smack Studio.
Our unique approach to animation allows creators to manipulate their 2D sprites as if they were 3D models.
Our mission is to make pixel art animation as accessible as possible. It shouldn't matter if you're a fighting game fan or a professional artist: everyone should be able to create stunning animated sprites and use them for their projects.
With Smack Studio, you can make your dream fighter using just one sprite. Simply split your pixel art into parts and import them into our Character Editor. Once you match each part to a bone in the rig editor, your character is ready to be animated.
Using the Character Editor in Smack Studio, you can manipulate your 2D sprites as if they're 3D models. The tool uses key frame interpolation to dynamically redraw the sprites on-the-fly. In other words, you can generate dozens of sprites instantly with just a few clicks.
When you're finished animating, you can export sprite sheets to use in external software and tweak to your liking. You can also play as your character instantly in Smack Studio's Test and VS modes.
